Property Manager at Strathcona Girls Grammar

Are you an experienced Property or Facilities Manager ready to make a lasting impact in an educational environment? We're seeking a proactive and hands‑on leader to oversee the maintenance, presentation, and development of our School's buildings, facilities, and grounds, ensuring a safe, efficient, and beautiful environment for students, staff, and the wider community.

About the Role

Reporting to the Business Manager, the Property Manager leads our dedicated maintenance and grounds team across all campuses and school owned residential properties. This pivotal role combines strategic oversight with hands‑on management to ensure the effective operation, safety, and sustainability of our physical assets.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Coordinating preventative and reactive maintenance programs.
  • Managing approved capital works and minor projects from concept to completion.
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Managing contractors and service level agreements.
  • Overseeing event setups, cleaning, waste, and security operations.
  • Maintaining vehicle fleets, grounds, and key registry systems.
  • Maintaining and managing the security system.
  • Leading and supporting a high‑performing maintenance team.
  • Contributing to the School's emergency management and OH&S systems.

About You

You're an organised and capable professional who thrives on variety and responsibility. You bring technical expertise, leadership skill, and a collaborative approach to improving systems and outcomes.

To succeed in this role, you'll demonstrate:

  • Proven experience managing property, facilities, or maintenance operations.
  • Strong leadership and staff supervision skills.
  • Solid understanding of risk management, workplace safety, and compliance.
  • Experience working with builders, architects, and contractors.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Commitment to child safety and alignment with the School's Christian ethos and values.

Experience within a school or similar institution is desirable, and construction or project management experience will be highly regarded.
