About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Notetaker / Integration Aide to join our Learning Enhancement Team in a full-time 12-month fixed term capacity. This role supports students who are hard of hearing and visually impaired, as well as other students with diverse learning, social/emotional, sensory, cognitive, and physical needs.

Working collaboratively with Learning Enhancement Teachers, Classroom Teachers, and the broader multidisciplinary team, this position plays a key role in ensuring meaningful access to learning, inclusion, and positive engagement for all students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend scheduled classes, take comprehensive and accessible notes, and provide them promptly in agreed formats.
  • Deliver targeted in-class and small-group support under the guidance of Learning Enhancement and Classroom Teachers.
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and monitoring individual learning adjustments and structured intervention programs.
  • Support the implementation of special provisions during assessments and exams.
  • Foster student independence, confidence, and organisational skills while maintaining sensitivity to individual needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with staff and families through meetings and ongoing communication.
  • Contribute to administrative tasks and maintain accurate records for NCCD and reporting purposes.

About You

You are an empathetic, organised, and proactive professional with a strong commitment to inclusive education. You demonstrate initiative, attention to detail, and the ability to build meaningful rapport with students and staff.

Essential Qualifications and Requirements

  • Certificate III and/or IV in School Based Education Support (or equivalent qualification).
  • Level 2 First Aid Certificate.
  • Current Working with Children Check.

Desirable

  • Notetaker training (e.g., deafConnectEd online modules).
  • Experience supporting students with hearing or vision impairments.
  • Sound knowledge of accessibility tools and assistive technologies.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the Disability Discrimination Act (1992) and Disability Standards for Education (2005).
  • Familiarity with NCCD processes and inclusive education practices.
  • Proficiency in ICT and ability to adapt to new digital learning systems.
