Early Years Kindergarten Co-Educator

Strathcona Girls Grammar is seeking an enthusiastic and caring Early Years Kindergarten Co-Educator to join our Junior School team. Working in partnership with the classroom teacher, this role supports a high-quality kindergarten program that is warm, engaging, and child-centred, in line with the VEYLDF and National Quality Standards. This is a 12 month fixed term role starting in term 1, 2026.

About the role

  • Work collaboratively with the Kindergarten Teacher to implement a rich, play-based learning program.
  • Help create a safe, welcoming and aesthetically pleasing indoor and outdoor learning environment.
  • Support children's health, wellbeing and development across all domains, with a strong focus on building positive relationships with children and families.
  • Assist with daily planning, small-group and individual learning experiences, documentation, displays and set-up of provocations.
  • Contribute to a professional, collegial and collaborative team culture.

Child safety and wellbeing

  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of child safety, duty of care and legal obligations.
  • Comply with the School's Child-Safe Policy, Code of Conduct and all child safety procedures.
  • Actively promote the safety, inclusion and wellbeing of all children in your care.

About you

You will be a positive, professional educator who is passionate about early childhood education and committed to ongoing learning. You will bring:

  • A solid understanding of contemporary early childhood theory and research.
  • Experience and/or have a strong interest in the Reggio Emilia Approach, EYLF/VEYLDF and pedagogical documentation.
  • Knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and the National Quality Standard.
  • A Diploma of Children's Services (or equivalent).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Support for the values and teachings of the Christian tradition.
